I was first introduced to Mixoloshe through a social media ad. It’s July in Miami, so tropical drinks are definitely a great idea! Their website is super fun with lots of bright colors and eye-catching pictures. Needless to say, I was quickly sold. It also didn’t hurt that they had a great offer for first-time buyers. TLDR? We purchased 2 orders of the VARIETY 3-PACK. (This way, if a can was damaged in transit, we’d have a backup.) Plus we can always use extra summer drinks for guests! The shipping was quick, although a can arrived a bit banged up – but no spills!
In this review, we’ll cover all three of their flavors: Tropical Smoky Margarita, Mango Chili Crush, and Southern Pineapple Smash.
About Mixoloshe
“We’re the best-tasting non-alcoholic cocktail in the game. Our beverages are as high in flavor as they are low in calories, and we use only clean ingredients like water, cane sugar, natural flavors, citric acid, and beta-carotene for color. Other booze-free alternatives are still high in calories and don’t end up being a calorically lower alternative to boozy beverages. We keep it clean because fun shouldn’t have to be fake.”
“Kristina Roth is a successful entrepreneur with a passion for fun, excitement, and bringing people together. As an island girl with a love for travel, delicious food, and even better drinks, Kristina packed the feeling of vacation straight into a can. She created Mixoloshe for everyone, so whether you’re at home by the pool or jet setting to white sand beaches, you only have to go as far as the cooler for the ultimate getaway.”
About Mixoloshe producers, Super She Inc
Mixoloshe shares the same makers as Supershe Pink Lemonade Vodka and Super Chilled Vodka.
“The SuperShe Spirits brand was born out of fun. In 2018, we hosted a series of small networking retreats on our remote island in the Baltic Sea that turned into a big surprise: we had so much fun meeting new people, hanging out, and swapping stories that we couldn’t bear to give all that up when we returned to the mainland. So, we created SuperShe Spirits to – literally – keep the party going and foster that same sense of community we tapped into back on the island. The spirit of SuperShe is the embodiment of lighthearted fun, inspiration to do good in the world, and a community that accepts everyone – all packed into every single bottle. With an amazing, smooth taste to boot, it really is super. You’re super, so your drink should be, too.”

All three of these drinks fall under the soft drink category. They are marketed as Non-Alcoholic but they were never alcoholic to begin with. They are essentially soft drinks that are created to taste like their alcoholic counterparts. It’s also worth noting that unlike traditional wines and hard liquors, no fruits or grains were used to create this beverage. It’s mostly composed of water, cane sugar, “natural flavors” and natural* coloring.
*We use the word natural loosely. Truly natural drinks shouldn’t require added colors – but without added juice, it’s visually difficult to replicate.
What does Mixoloshe Tropical Smoky Margarita Taste Like?
We invited all of the tropical flavors to party in our can, and the result tastes like a Caribbean getaway.
Mixoloshe.com
The color is bright and fun, similar to how it’s photographed on the website. Out of the can, it’s very bubbly – the large ones. We had them cold but they may also be served over ice. Of the three flavors, this is probably our 2nd favorite. The taste reminds me of soda because of its sweet and fruity flavor. It’s not sweet to the point where it sticks to your teeth. The taste is also a bit reminiscent of cough syrup, the blue one. I recommend finishing the can in one sitting, as the bubbles go flat after a few hours.
Mixoloshe Tropical Smoky Margarita Review and Rating Does it taste like a smoky margarita? Not really. You don’t really get the smokey flavor. The cough syrup taste is somewhat comparable to tequila (the alcohol most commonly used to make margaritas). Overall, Smokey Margarita can be a good alternative to soda, but it doesn’t really hit the spot for me as a margarita. Maybe as a slushie, it would be more comparable. So for this, it gets 2 sips.

What does Mixoloshe Mango Chili Crush Taste Like?
The sweetness of mango, the kick of chili, and the creamy finish of vanilla give this drink a little something for everyone. And, with our perfect amount of bubbles, there’s always a reason to celebrate.

Just like the tropical Smoky Margarita, the Mango Chili Crush is also very bright in color with lots of fizz and bubbles. It really is the perfect hue for the summer. The color almost reminds me of a Fanta.
The first taste is very reminiscent of Jamaican Ginger Beer, which is marketed as soda.
Mixoloshe Mango Chili Crush Review and Rating
It’s not as sweet as the Smokey Margarita, but just as fruity. And true to the chili description there is just a touch of tingly spice at the end. The hints of real ginger really give it a kick, but not something that overwhelms. I’d probably recommend this for a party where you’d want to provide guests with an alternative to soda. Or possibly as a pre-game drink. Overall, I give it 2 sips.

What does Mixoloshe Southern Pineapple Smash Taste Like?
Take a trip to a southern barbeque bash, with notes of grilled pineapple and sweet caramel. Turn up the tunes and make a toast!

The biggest surprise when we served this drink was the color! For a drink with pineapple in the name, I expected a bright yellow color, especially since the others Mixoloshe drinks were bright orange. Instead, we got a color similar to a watered-down coke – a light caramel with bubbles.
Mixoloshe Southern Pineapple Smash Review and Rating
The taste was also a letdown. I was expecting an explosion of fruit flavor, but instead got a mixture of cough syrup and kool-aid. The taste profile is similar to ginger beer soda… if you close your eyes and really taste, you can get a light hint of pineapple essence. It’s also not quite as bubbly and crisp as seltzer. In my opinion, I would categorize this as a replacement for soda rather than an alcoholic beverage. This also gets 2 sips.

Final thoughts on Mixoloshe
Overall as a group, the drinks get 2 sips. A good alternative, but not something we would seek out. However, if you’re looking to try just one flavor, our favorite of the 3 from Mixoloshe is definitely the Mango Chili Crush. A close second is the Tropical Smoky Margarita, followed by our least favorite, the Southern Pineapple Smash. Although they are marketed as non-alcoholic beverages, it really is more of a soda replacement. It would actually be a good mixer for a mixed drink. We’ll definitely try one of these with a non-alcoholic spirit!
Mixoloshe has also launched its new Sham Spirits with two new mixed drinks, Orange Old Fashioned and Blueberry Gin and Tonic. Check back for an update once we review!
