The St Regis Dealcoholized Shiraz Rose was the first dealcoholized wine I tried, and it inspired me to start Social Unbuzz. This non alcoholic wine was featured in several articles, including Money Inc’s The 10 Best Non-Alcoholic Wines in the World and Food Network’s 15 Convincing Non-Alcoholic Wines You Should Try. If these big publishers are recommending this non alcoholic wine, it must be good, right? Keep reading to find out why this unwine inspired me to start this blog! About St Regis Non Alcoholic Wines
The first question on my mind is whether this St Regis is the same as the hotel chain. Did this premium hotel release their own wine? We did some research and found no mention of the hotel on the St Regis Wine website. Furthermore, the St Regis hotel brand is owned by Marriott/Sheraton chain, and not a standalone brand. We did more digging and found that trademarks typically have a limited scope of protection. In this case, the St Regis name that most people know, is only trademarked for the following sector:
“Providing temporary accommodation services, namely, making reservations and bookings for others for accommodations at hotels, motels and resorts; providing of food and drink; restaurants; bar services”

In fact, during our search, we actually found numerous St Regis companies, in different sectors to include a mail order catalog and a food processing equipment company. So ultimately, no, this non-alcoholic wine was not related to the hotel.
Where is St Regis Wine From?
Now that we have that out of the way, the second most exciting thing about this wine was that it was made in France! I have enjoyed a few traditional alcoholic rosé wines from France, so I’m hopeful for this dealcoholized wine.
Made from the grapes of some of Europe’s finest vineyards, St. Regis offers an impressive selection of palate-pleasing de-alcoholized wines. With four varietals and now three bubblies to choose from, St. Regis will keep your wine rack fully stocked without the added calories – or headaches!
Not drinking? Enjoy St. Regis non-alcoholic wines on their own. Moderating your alcohol consumption? Simply alternate drinking our wines and alcoholic drinks so you can stay on top of your game. No matter the reason, St. Regis wines make it possible to indulge without sacrificing the complex flavours of a fine wine – or the luxurious experience of drinking one!

How is St Regis Dealcoholization Wine made?
All non-alcoholic wines in the St. Regis family have a quality pedigree, starting with the finest grapes from some of Europe’s most sought-after vineyards. Made by our master vintners, St. Regis de-alcoholized wines are fermented and aged, just like traditional wines, until the perfect balance of texture and aroma is achieved. The alcohol is then delicately removed through a state-of-the-art vacuum distillation process which keeps the wine’s integrity intact, allowing it to retain its original bouquet, character, colour, and flavour. Our adherence to Old World winemaking techniques is what sets St. Regis wines apart, resulting in a premium product all the way from grapes to glass – without the alcohol.

The St Regis Shiraz rosé was dealcoholized using the vacuum distillation method, similar to the Château Del Ish Rosé reviewed in our previous article. Both companies are based in Europe, so it’s unsurprising they use the same dealcoholization process. The technology and equipment required to dealcoholize wine is expensive, so some companies use a third party to complete the dealcoholization process for them.
St. Regis Dealcoholized Shiraz Rose First impressions
I was surprised to find that Total Wine & More carried a few options. I picked this wine based on its label design, which was modern and eye-catching compared to other more traditional designs. The label featured a fun bird and script writing, with the rest of the label covered in black and white text. The Shiraz rose had a beautiful color to the rose wine that was showcased through the clear glass.
The bottle was affordable at under $10. It also featured a screw cap, which is common for affordable dealcoholized wines. We chilled the bottle before drinking it, and once poured, immediately got the aroma of a shiraz wine.

St Regis Wines
When I first tried this non alcoholic wine, I was surprised to find it tasted more like kombucha than wine. It was very fruity and sour, with very little sweetness. This was a surprise, since the drink smelled like wine. How can a drink smell like wine, but the taste be so different? This led me to ask – are there any non-alcoholic wines that taste like good wine?
I did like the texture of the drink, it was slightly dry in the mouth which gave an authentic wine feel.
Since we’d already bought a whole bottle, we decided to chill it and try it again the next night. The vinegar taste had dissipated a bit on the second night, and we could almost taste a light rosé wine. However, the flavor was so light that it was easy to miss.
St Regis Dealcoholized Shiraz Rose Rating and Review
If you enjoy kombucha, this may be a good choice for you. However, if you are looking for a non-alcoholic wine that tastes like wine, you may be disappointed. This was my first time trying non-alcoholic wine, and I was not impressed. It definitely felt like I was making a compromise with this drink. Although it was affordable, I would give it a 1-sip rating. I would not recommend trying it again. Ultimately, the beautiful pink hue of the wine was not matched by its taste.
