After receiving my promo box from Better Rhodes (see what arrived here), I thought I’d give my review on one of my favorite types of non alcoholic drinks – Red UnWines. I’ve always preferred red wines, so naturally, this had to be the first type I picked to review. What did we think of the Wander + Found Non Alcoholic Pinot Noir? Would I recommend it? Read on for our full review.
Wander + Found Non-Alcoholic Pinot Noir Design & Packaging
The label featured a coastline and a lighthouse, which led me to believe it was from Oregon or another coastal state. However, upon closer inspection, this NA wine is imported from the Rhine region of Germany, typically known for its dry whites and white blends. As a fan of red, it’ll be interesting to see the taste of a red wine from a region that’s not well known for producing it.
Although it wasn’t listed on the label, this wine was awarded Bronze at the 2023 World Alcohol-Free Awards and Silver at the Pr%f Awards. It came housed in a dark glass bottle and sealed with a screw cap and a plastic lining.
Wander + Found Non-Alcoholic Pinot Noir Tasting Notes
“Wander & Found continues to find excellence with this sophisticated red blend created in the style of a Spätburgunder – more commonly known to us as a Pinot Noir. In this well-balanced red, you’ll find notes of ripened dark red fruits balanced with a note of the earthen richness of dried currants. It has a familiar and sought-after tannin structure, and a complex long finish, allowing it to pair equally well with a hearty steak or with grilled fish and vegetables. Wander & Found Pinot Noir is a perfect non-alcoholic wine for dinner, or to share a glass on its own.”
“Not all those who wander are lost” – Tolkien
The CoFounder has shared that this quote, printed on each bottle, inspired the brand’s name. It encompasses the feeling they had when looking for an alternative to traditional wines.
Award-winning Judges’ Tasting Notes
“Cherry and stone-fruit aromas, with oak-like flavours of vanilla and cloves. With some tartness and tannin it’s a good mid-weight red for the dinner table.”
Overall, I have to agree with the judges. The wine had just enough tannins to give it a subtle dryness, which I enjoyed. The flavor profile was layered in a way that tasted like a traditional glass of wine. This balance of the tannins and flavors really made this Unwine enjoyable.
Non Alcoholic Wines that Pair Well with Hamburgers
As you know, I enjoy food as much as I enjoy my wines. So naturally, I had to pair this glass of non-alcoholic Pinot Noir with a perfectly medium-rare burger from our BGE.
On a hot summer day, I can definitely see myself using this non-alcoholic wine as a base for a traditional Spanish fruit sangria or even a Tinto de Verano. The tannins would be a great balance against the fresh fruits.

Wander + Found Non-Alcoholic Pinot Noir Value / Cost
This bottle of unwine retails for $17.99, which works out to about $6 a glass. A bit on the steep side, especially compared to more affordable wines. However, the taste is so close to a decent Pinot Noir, I might venture to say that it tastes better than the cheap wines. There is minimal sugar (less than a cup of juice), tastes super smooth, and has great flavor!
Wander + Found Non-Alcoholic Pinot Noir Rating
This Pinot Noir deserves a solid 4 Sip rating. There is a great balance between the dryness, fruity profile, and smooth finish. It’s easy to drink, and reminiscent of a glass of traditional wine. It pairs well with foods due to its subtle dryness, but also tastes great as a standalone glass.
If you enjoy a smooth red wine, this definitely needs to be on your list!
