If there is an OG for non alcoholic beverages, Welch’s sparkling juices would be it. For as long as I can remember, Welch’s non alcoholic drinks were served to kids while the adults celebrated with a bottle of bubbly. Back in the day, Welch’s only had sparkling apple juice – which I will always associate as a kid’s drink. But with the growing popularity of non alcoholic beverages, they have expanded their offering to include flavors that are more appealing to adults. Case and point, today’s review of Welch’s Sparkling Rose. Will this be a good non alcoholic option for adults or will it be another juice better suited for kids? TLDR? Skip to the rating.
About Welch’s
The “Welch’s” name has been around for as long as I can remember. I associate them with producing sweet, affordable juices. Their products were always readily available and in season, so I never gave much thought to the farms that produce the fruits for their products.
Welch’s is on a mission to deliver flavorful moments to families everywhere. And, like you, we care about where our food comes from. In fact, we’re owned by 700 family farms, rooted in tradition and hard work since 1869.

Welch’s Sparkling Rose, although named after a wine variety, is considered a soft drink. Welch’s doesn’t ferment their grapes and turn them into wine. Instead they produce these drinks by directly pressing the fruits to make juice.
Our grapes are 100% grown in the USA and go from vine to press within 8 hours of picking. We use 90% of the grapes we harvest, pressing the skin and seeds to maximize health benefits. This means no artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners in our 100% juice.

Welch’s Non Alcoholic Sparkling Rose First impressions
The price of this non alcoholic drink was the most appealing part of this drink. At under $5 a bottle, making this alcohol free switch, is both more economical and sober-conscious! At this price point, the screw top was expected in place of a cork. However, it was surprising to find a glass bottle and a foil cover to emulate a traditional sparkling wine. There was also a neck label included as well!
Now onto the drink itself, the clear glass displayed a nice pink hue. It’s darker than a traditional rose – which is almost transparent. We found it hard to tell if this was a juice or a wine substitute based on appearance. The Rose name made me believe that this would taste more like a wine. However, on the first sip, the Juice Cocktail reminded me of a sweeter version of a juice.

The Welch’s Sparkling Rose taste was similar to sweet white grape juice. The only difference between this drink and the typical welch juices was the large bubbles included. Considering this was made from 50% juice, it’s not surprising that it reflected in the taste.
Welch’s Sparkling Rose Rating and Review
Although we were very excited with having more Welch options at our local grocery store, this was a little bit of a let down. It’s not much different to Welch’s sparkling apple juices – with the only difference being the flavor of grape. So this non alcoholic drink gets 2 Sips. It’s OK, would have it again, but only if there were no other option. It had a decent taste, but not much different from the juices in Welch’s brand. Sure, we can offer this as an alternative to wines etc, but the simple taste makes it feel like an afterthought.

I have to say that I’m impressed by the ingredient list. This list is very similar to some of the non-alcoholic wines we’ve reviewed for just a fraction of the price. Additionally, it’s great that there were no added food colorings or added sugar. Not only is the pretty pink of this drink all Natural, it is only sweetened by the fruits themselves. I have to say – impressive. I just wish the flavor was a bit more elevated.
Where to buy Welch’s Sparkling Rose
Unlike the other non-alcoholic wines, we found this Sparkling Rose in the juice section of our local grocery store. It was placed alongside the other sparkling juices. Similar to brands like Fre, who have an established distribution channel,
